About the project
Zach'Lab is a suite of two apps for students. Zachar't Mentale builds and reviews mind maps. Zach'Math works through maths exercise sheets, chapter by chapter.
Both share the same look, the same shortcuts and the same command palette. Your files stay on your disk, in your Documents folder. Syncing with a teacher is possible, but optional.
Features
-
Mind maps on four levels
A title, sub-sections, details, and free cards in the margin. Each map card has a type (course, exercises, notes, corrections) so you know what it is for. Fill-in-the-blank questions to revise, XMind import and export.
-
Sheets organised by chapter
Each sheet follows a textbook page, with its exercises, workspace and answer. Sheets keep the order of your notebook, and you can sort or search them across the whole library.
-
Working blocks
Text, line-by-line calculations, proportion tables, step-by-step equations. Tables fill up from the keyboard, and you can paste straight from a spreadsheet.
-
Corrections built in
Each exercise is marked to correct, corrected or to review. The home screen shows what is left to do, and suggested courses appear next to the exercise.
-
Colours that help you read
Units (km, h, €) and like terms in an equation each get their own colour, so you can see what goes together. A calculator and notes stay within reach, for each exercise.
-
Keyboard first
Create, move, correct, jump to the next exercise: all of it works without leaving the keyboard. The command palette opens with Ctrl/⌘ + K, and zoom, compact mode and panels have their own shortcuts.
