Privacy

This is my personal website. No ads, no accounts, nothing for sale. Here is exactly what gets measured when you visit, and why you will never see a cookie banner here.

Analytics

I use Umami, an open source analytics tool that I self-host at analytics.aifedespaix.com. The data stays on my own server and is never shared with anyone.

Umami tells me, in a fully anonymous way:

• which pages get visited, and which site you came from;
• your browser, operating system and screen size;
• the country you connect from.

What it doesn't do: no cookies, no browser fingerprinting, no tracking across sites. Your IP address is never stored in plain form, it is only used to build an anonymous session identifier that can't be traced back to you. And if your browser sends the "Do Not Track" signal, the script measures nothing at all.

Why no cookie banner?

Consent is required when a site drops cookies or trackers that can identify you. Umami does neither: the audience measurement is anonymous, so it is exempt from consent. A banner would just be extra noise.

Preferences stored on your device

Your theme choice (light or dark) and color palette are saved in your browser's local storage. These settings never leave your device. To remove them, clear the site data in your browser.

Hosting

The site is served by Cloudflare Pages. Like any host, Cloudflare processes technical logs (including IP addresses) to deliver pages and fend off attacks. Their privacy policy covers that processing.
